The publications presented below are a good introduction to the published studies available for Alaska’s many geothermal sites. For some geothermal prospects, particularly Makushin, there is a substantial amount of further information available; and for other geothermal prospects only passing references can be found. Frequently the papers will have a bibliography that will have references to previous work. Additionally, the Alaska Division of Geological and Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) has an excellent search feature that allows access to all DGGS publications. For federally funded research, the Department of Energy’s Office of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) has a database that includes many Alaska geothermal articles and research studies.
