Kotzebue (Kotzebue Electric Association)
Starting with three wind turbine generators in 1997, KEA now has twelve 65 kW AOCs and one 100 kW Northwind 100 and one 65 kW remanufactured vestas. These units currently supply about seven percent of Kotzebue’s electrical requirements annually. KEA plans future expansion to as much as two to three megawatts of wind power.

St. Paul (TDX Power)
In St. Paul, a high penetration wind-diesel system utilizing a 225 Vestas V-27 turbine provides power and heating to a large industrial facility. TDX plans to add two more wind turbines to the system in 2006.The hot water tank shown below is where excess energy is “dumped” for use in facility heating.

Port Heiden/Pilot Point
Sustainable Energy Commission of the Alaska Peninsula (SECAP) has installed two grid-tied 10 kW Bergey wind systems.
Selawik (Alaska Village Electric Cooperative)
Four 65 kW Entegrity (formerly AOC) wind turbines were installed as part of a combined bulk fuel and power plant upgrade in 2003.
Toksook Bay (Alaska Village Electric Cooperative)
Three 100 kW Northern Power Systems Northwind 100 turbines were installed in 2006. This wind-diesel system also supplies power to nearby Tununak and Nightmute. This system is estimated to displace 52,000 gallons of diesel fuel per year.

Kasigluk (Alaska Village Electric Cooperative)
Three 100 kW Northern Power Systems Northwind 100 turbines were installed in the summer of 2006. This wind-diesel system also supplies power to nearby Nunapitchuk and Old Kasigluk. This system is estimated to displace 52,000 gallons of diesel fuel per year.
