Alaska Energy Authority is in construction of a diversion project to divert water from Battle Creek into Bradley Lake, to increase the energy output at the existing Bradley Lake hydroelectric plant by an average of 37,000 MWh/yr. The project will include construction of three miles of road, a concrete diversion dam, and two miles of pipe to convey the water to Bradley Lake.

The additional energy will benefit communities in the Railbelt served by the six electric utilities: Chugach Electric, Anchorage Municipal Light & Power, Homer Electric, Matanuska Electric, Golden Valley Electric, and the Seward Electric System.

Construction began in 2018 and will be completed in 2020.
