The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) is accepting applications for Round 19 of the Renewable Energy Fund (REF) grant program. The application period opens July 13, 2026, and closes Sept. 11, 2026, at 4 p.m. AKDT.

AEA will review and evaluate all applications based on the criteria outlined in the Request for Applications (RFA) below. The Renewable Energy Fund Advisory Committee (REFAC) will review projects that meet the RFA requirements and receive AEA recommendations. The REFAC is a nine-member advisory body established under Alaska Statute 42.45.045.

After the evaluation process concludes and the REFAC approves its recommendations, AEA will submit the REFAC’s recommended projects to the Alaska State Legislature for consideration in the fiscal year 2028 capital budget. Funding decisions rest with the Governor and the Legislature. A recommendation from REFAC does not guarantee funding.
