The Alaska Energy Authority (AEA) is currently in the process of evaluating all applications based on the criteria outlined in the Request for Applications (RFA) below. The Renewable Energy Fund Advisory Committee (REFAC) will review projects that meet the RFA requirements and receive AEA recommendations. Alaska Statute 42.45.045 established REFAC as a nine-member advisory body.
After the evaluation process concludes and the REFAC approves its recommendations, AEA will submit the REFAC’s recommended projects to the Alaska State Legislature for consideration in the fiscal year 2028 capital budget. Funding decisions rest with the Governor and the Legislature. A recommendation from REFAC does not guarantee funding.
